I have the same Audi manual as you, that green cavity I think is where the S-Tronic transmission fluid is housed. That is the fluid that’s on a 40,000 mile schedule. Makes sense since the green area affects the rear drive shaft. All you changed is the fluid that affects the front wheel drive aspect of the Quattro system

Fantastic video thanks. Very informative for a new scope user. I know you said you wont tell how to get the automotive option for the 2204a but coukd you point me in the right direction to research it myself? I have been google searching for ages and no luck as of yet. For a new user like my self tryings to gmset the scope up for different tests is the biggest problem. Maybe i should have spent the extra cash and bought the automotive product but its a lot of money for a hobby mechanic to outlay. Thanks for your content i have subscribed and look forward to new videos

Hi Dave , wonder if you can give me some advice or at least point me in the right direction . i have a 2005 VW Transporter T5 2.5TDI automatic T30 ,it has a problem when it hits 4 gear it goes up 5th then 6th but doesn't go any faster than 50mph then drops to 5th then 4th doesn't gain any speed ,any ideas or advice ?

Hi Dave, thanks a lot for the lesson! So if there are any rust particles around the magnet ( 12:58 ) the sensor will go crazy, right? My left rear sensor is unstable. It occurred after cleaning the wheels with rust-cleaner product. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've already cleaned the connectors, without success. I haven't tried cleaning the magnet yet.

To anyone coming here before you take on this job... I highly recommend to just remove the subframe- it takes an hour of extra work and you can leave the wiring connected, just lower it slightly and swing it out of the way on a gearbox jack. Once thats moved the Dpf can come out and access is so easy- takes half an hour to remove the egr valve then! You wont regret it!

Christ Dave, I expected the car to surrender the brake shoes with all the waffling. Wheel off, drum off, clean and replace shoes. Done.

Top class info and very well presented as per usual. Great idea using the Jubilee clip. I like this style of handbrake system, similar to some Volvos. When serving my apprenticeship in the very early 1970s at a government training centre we always used a rag soaked in methylated spirits to clean the area. Perhaps the OHS act would frown on that now to prevent people getting high or worse drinking it. 😄👍

Interesting observation I have witnessed. Chrysler Jeep dealers service Dept. Recommends ENGINE REPLAC'T over repair of the Multi air unit. 2nd opinion from our local car repair shop.... Replacement of engine. This isn't sensible or economical. Dealer $14k Local repair shop $11k Techs can't get over the no compression on two Adjacent cylinders. Our Son in Laws car was under an extended warranty and the cost of A installation of a Multiair manifold at $1900 plus labor,fluids and tax is close to half the cost of a new engine. My Son in law was lucky with s good aftermkt warranty. In America I recommend prospective buys AVOID the Multiair like the plague.

Aye, the Jubilee clip trick is a good one. Been recycling that one since I first saw you doing it. Showed my mucker and he’s doing it too. For pushing on the return springs, I’ve got an old flat blade screwdriver that I’ve cut a wee notch in the middle of the blade with a grinder. You can locate the notch on the spring and give it a wee dunt. Top stuff as always Dave. Keep them coming 😎

I have the same problem with one wheel an Audi a5 2013 …. New discs, new pads and even now a new caliper on the wheel that gets hot and discs.. still the same problem so got a new flex hose and still the same problem.
